The MVI69-PDPMV1 master communication module with a CFG port from the DP-V1 series is designed by Prosoft Technology and its sub-brand is inRAx®. The module uses a CFG port as its main interface and it has bright LED indicators for operational elements such as the status of the module, power status, application status, activity of the ports, and the error status. The connection cables used with this module are the RJ45 to DB-9 M and the 6-foot RS-232 cables. Since this is an MVI69 model, the module’s current rating is 800 mA maximum at 5 Volts DC and its distance rating of the power supply is 2, meaning that the L43 and L45 processors are installed on the first two slots of the 1769 Bus. The MVI69-PDPMV1 is compatible with single-slot – 1769 backplane and it is recognized as an input/output module by the processor.
The MVI69-PDPMV1 module can be utilized for accessing the processor’s memory to transfer the data between the processor and the module. The data transfer between these two components is performed with the use of Ladder Logic and the module comes with a sample ladder file that can be used. In regard to the configuration of this module, all of the relevant data can be obtained through the special ProSoft Configuration Builder software solution which can be utilized to properly define the PROFIBUS network and later on to download the configuration to the module through the PC’s serial port. The MVI69-PDPMV1 module is compatible with all of the processors from the CompactLogix series including the L20/L23/L30/L31/L32/L35, L43, and L45. However, it should be noted that the L43 and L45 are supported only if they have the RSLogix 5000 v16.03 software or a newer version. Also, the module supports most of the MicroLogix 1500 LRP controllers. The module is standardized and approved by the Ex certificate (ATEX directive), CE, CB safety, Lloyd’s register, C/UL class 1, division 2, and others. The environmental conditions for the use of this module include a relative non-condensing humidity of 5 to 95%, an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and a storage temperature range from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit).
