PS69-DPS

The PS69-DPS is a ProfiBus DP V0 and DP V1 compatible slave interface module from Prosoft Technology. The PS69-DPS occupies a single slot and must be installed not more than Six (6) modules away from the Power Supply as dictated by the Power Supply Distance rating requirement. When connected to the ProfiBus master device, the PS69-DPS is recognized as Input / Output node, allowing inter-controller communication over ProfiBus network. Intercontroller communication permits the transfer of CPU data between Two (2) or more CPUs with the data represented as I/O addresses. With this, the controller with the PS69-DPS functions similarly as distributed I/O component. The PS69-DPS comes with a built-in EC1-160P with an integrated ASPC2 processor, One (1) RS485 port that supports ProfiBus protocol configurable at a maximum transmission speed of 12 MBaud, and One (1) RS232 PS/2 mini-DIN female connector configurable at 9600 Baud as diagnostic interface. The PS69-DPS supports the transfer of up to 244 Bytes of input data; 244 Bytes of output data, read / Write class 1 Alarm service for DPV1. Up to 32 Profibus devices can be connected in a single segment therefore, up to 31 PS69-DPS can be used in a segment excluding the Master device.

The Prosoft PS69-DPS CompactLogix inRAx PROFIBUS DP V0/V1 slave communication module is a PROFIBUS communication interface module that allows the allows the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix or MicroLogix control modules to accommodate the PROFIBUS DP V0/V1 networking protocol in a wide range of industrial automation systems. The PS69-DPS module offers enhanced features that allow it to be used as a standard I/O module on the CompactLogix or MicroLogix controller, and it supports both I/O control and messaging capabilities. The PS69-DPS module is a slot-based interface module that can be installed on the Allen-Bradley 1796 backplane, and it draws a maximum backplane current of 260 mA at 5 Volts DC. It is compatible with the CompactLogix L20, L30, L31, L32, L35, and L43 processor, and it also supports the MicroLogix 1500 LRP. On the MicroLogix and CompactLogix control systems, the PS69-DPS module is recognized as an input/output module that has access to system memory for data transmission on the RS-485 link. Process data is transmitted at a selectable baud rate between 9.6 kBaud and 12 kBaud over a maximum length of 100 meters (325 feet).

The Prosoft PS69-DPS module comes with an onboard 9-pin, D-Shell Socket RS-232 communication port that serves as a diagnostic interface. The PS69-DPS module comes with an LED status indicator that displays the communication and module status. The PS69-DPS module has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and it can be used within a 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity range. It is CE, UL, and C-UL certified.
