The 5069-RTB5-SCREW module is Removal Terminal Block Kit which can accessorize a CompactLogix 5380 type controller; both the kit and the controller itself are manufactured by Rockwell Automation. A CompactLogix controller is used to address controller solutions for a wide range of applications, from standalone applications to more complex systems with devices being interconnected and communicating through EtherNet/IP networks. The 5069-RTB5-SCREW weighs roughly over 500 grams. The power supply to the Removal Terminal Block is made through an MOD and an SA power connector, which must not exceed 24 Volts of Direct Current (DC).  The 5069-RTB5-SCREW is used together with various accessories such as an end cap, memory cards, and Ethernet communication cables. The RTB is installed on the controller by attaching it to a 5069-AEN2TR Adapter, which also houses the various other accessories mentioned above.

For safety purposes, no more than one conductor should be connected to a single RTB terminal.  All the power supply inputs must be grounded through the ground bus, so as to avoid injuries to the operator by electrocution. The RTB has a grounding terminal, which provides low impedance paths between circuits and earthings; it also helps to reduce white noise. The materials required to fix the module to the controller including a certain amount of insulated wire and screw driver. The insulated wire is stripped off and the exposed copper (of not more than 0.39 inches) is inserted into the screw-point of the various terminals. Next, the operator turns the screwdriver to close the wire into the terminal, torquing the screw at between 0.5 N-m and 0.6 N-m. All these steps should be completed when the power connection to the SA AC is switched off, to avoid an electric arc, which could cause an explosion.
