SST-PB3-CLX-RLL

The SST-PB3-CLX-RLL module is a chassis module which is widely used in conjunction with the ControlLogix series by Allen-Bradley. This chassis module has been designed and manufactured by Molex. For communication, this module is equipped with the PROFIBUS D-sub female module with 9 pins. The SST-PB3-CLX-RLL module weighs 430 Grams. This module is a PROFIBUS scanner for the Allen-Bradley 1756 backplane system and the Honeywell PlantScape system. It helps to enable the communication link between a CLX processor and a remote I/O device which lies on a PROFIBUS network. The module can be configured and programmed by using the SST PROFIBUS configuration tool. This tool helps to configure the I/O on the network. The input and output data are mapped into the ControlLogix 5550 Controller’s I/O data arrays. It also displays the connection status and any faults that may occur during the normal operation of the module. Below the LCD panel are 3 LED indicators which display the COMM, SYS, and OK status of the module. The COMM LED indicates the network health status, SYS LED indicates the health status of the PROFIBUS master, and it also scans all the slave units in RUN mode, and the OK LED indicates if the initialization of the module is complete and the module is ready to operate or not. The SST-PB3-CLX-RLL module has an operating temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.

The SST-PB3-CLX-RLL is a Profibus scanner module that is compatible for use with the 1756 ControlLogix automation platform or the Honeywell PlantScape control system. This module is manufactured by Molex, an encompass partner company of Rockwell Automation.

The SST-PB3-CLX-RLL is a single slot module that directly fits to any available slot of the 1756 Chassis. Up to eight (8) modules can be installed in a single rack, enabling communication between Logix processors and Profibus DP slave devices. It has one (1) 9-pin sub-D connector that support communication up to 125 DP slave devices. This module supports standard transmission speeds of Profibus network such as 9600, 19200, 31.25k, 45.45k, 93.75k, 187.5k, 500k, 1.5M, 3M, 6M, and 12M baud. Additionally, this module may be operated with multiple Profibus Master and Slave, utilizing the mentioned transmission speeds.

The SST-PB3-CLX-RLL supports Synch and Freeze commands when operating as a Profibus master device; supports up to 122 input data Words and 122 output data Words per connected slave device. Additionally, it may be configured to listen to a maximum of 15 connections plus 1 output connection. Similarly, this module supports the Profibus DPV1 master services including Class 1: MSAC1_Read, MSAC2_Write and Class 2: MSAC2_Initiate, MSAC2_Read, MSAC2_Write, MSAC2_Idle, and MSAC2_Abort.

The SST-PB3-CLX-RLL can also be used for distributed I/O applications. With this, the SST-PB3-CLX-RLL acts as a Profibus Master. Up to 256 Input and Output modules may be connected to the Profibus network headed by this module. Up to 1984 bytes of input data and 1968 bytes of output data within 4 I/O pages is supported by this module.
