Allen Bradley's Embedded Switch product line is a line of Ethernet networking technology. This technology embeds Ethernet hardware directly into devices. Embedded Switch technology allows automation system components to connect to Ethernet networks without requiring external Ethernet switches. Devices with Embedded Switch technology can be installed in linear topologies or DLR (Device Level Ring) topologies. Embedded Switch technology also supports diagnostics, quick device recovery, and high-performance ring capabilities.
