The 100-D180A11 contactor is an AC contactor that comes from the IEC 100 Contactors and Bulletin 100-D series by Allen-Bradley. This series provides different contactors that are suitable for different applications with reversing or non-reversing types of AC motors. This specific contactor, the 100-D180A11 contactor, operates only in non-reversing systems with AC voltage. The AC coil voltage rating of this contactor ranges from 220 to 230 Volts AC at a frequency of 50 Hertz and it is 240 Volts AC at a frequency of 60 Hertz. The motors and other equipment involved in the system need to be compatible with this voltage and frequency range so that operations run smoothly at all times. The Allen-Bradley 100-D180A11 AC contactor can be installed on a panel only and it cannot support a PLC interface.
The Allen-Bradley 100-D180A11 Bulletin 100-D AC contactor comes with 3 poles that operate with gold-plated conventional coils. In addition, the contactor comes with one normally open auxiliary contact and one normally closed auxiliary contact that operate alongside each other and which together can perform a mirror contact function. With the mirror contact function, the close contact is not affected by power variances directly applied to the power poles. The Allen-Bradley 100-D180A11 AC contactor operates with a current rating of 180 Amps at 60 degrees Celsius, which is the maximum operating temperature recommended for this contactor. If the operating temperature is higher than 60 degrees Celsius, the current rating of the contactor must be derated by at least 15 percent to allow the contactor to operate safely at up to 70 degrees Celsius. The contactor does not include any housing or enclosure for protection, and it is recommended to keep it away from liquids and away from corrosive materials, vapors, or gases.
