The 2080-LCD unit, manufactured by Rockwell Automation, is a Micro800 series display add-on. This unit can be used to configure Allen Bradley’s Micro810 controller specifically. The 2080-LCD is a display and keypad module, with an LCD display screen, sized at around 1.5 inches. This unit can be set up with either the Connected Components Workbench software or with Smart Relay Function blocks. The 2080-LCD cannot run both options at the same time; if a user attempts to use one software while the other is running, one of the two will end up being overwritten.
Allen Bradley’s 2080-LCD display and keypad module has a protection system set up for its passwords. This password system restricts access to both the 2080-LCD module, as well as to the Micro810 drive connected to it. If a password is lost or forgotten, the controller will have to be set back to its “program” mode, through use of the key switch located on the Micro810 module. Then, the ControlFlash feature will update the module’s firmware. If placed in a non-hazardous location, the 2080-LCD module may be removed or inserted from the Micro810 Unit while power is still being applied to the controller. In hazardous locations, however, the unit’s power must be completely shut off before installation or removal of the 2080-LCD.
This display and keypad module can operate in a temperature zone of -20 to 55 degrees Celsius, or -4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit. It can be stored in a temperature zone of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, or -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. This unit’s surrounding environmental temperature should not exceed 55 degrees Celsius, or 131 degrees Fahrenheit.
