2080sc-BAC

The Allen Bradley 2080sc-BAC is designed for effective communication within the Micro 800 series of controllers. This plug-in module features dual channels: one serial and one Ethernet. By default, the serial interface uses RS-485, but it can be reconfigured to RS-232 if needed. The resolution is set at 16 bits, offering clarity in data handling.

For communication flexibility, various baud rates are supported, ranging from 1200 to 76.8K baud, enabling it to cater to different application requirements. The device has a low input power consumption, drawing 40 mA at 3.3 volts and consumes under 50 mA at 24 volts, totaling less than 0.85 watts. It can handle input protection of 24 VDC.

The module is capable of operating under harsh conditions with an operating temperature range from -20 to 65 degrees Celsius and a storage temperature between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. It can maintain functionality in environments with 5 to 95% relative humidity without condensation. Wire sizes supported for connections range from 22 to 30 AWG, making it versatile for various applications.

This module also features isolation of 500 VAC (or 707 VDC) for one minute to protect the device and connected equipment. It is a critical component for achieving reliable communication in automated systems.
