The 1761-CBL-PM02 cable is a communication cable that has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as an accessory in the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 series of industrial modules and components. The Series C or later versions of the 1761-CBL-PM02 communication cable are suitable for use in Class 1, Division 2 types of hazardous industrial environments. This communication cable is 2 meters or 6.5 feet long and it requires an external power supply. It can be used to make different kinds of connections. The connections that the 1761-CBL-PM02 communication cable supports include connections from channel 0 on an SLC 5/03, 5/04, or 5/05 device to an RS-232 8-pin mini DIN communication port on an AIC+ interface converter and connections from MicroLogix 1000, MicroLogix 1200, and MicroLogix 1500 processors to RS-232 DB-9 DTE communication ports in AIC+ interface converters.

Other types of connections that the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1761-CBL-PM02 MicroLogix communication cable can support include connections between a PanelView device with a NULL modem adapter and the RS-232 8-pin mini DIN communication port on an AIC+ interface converter and connections between a PC com port and the RS-232 8-pin mini DIN communication port on an AIC+ interface converter. The 1761-CBL-PM02 communication cable can also support hardware handshaking if it is a Series B version. This cable does not ship with the devices that it connects to but must instead be ordered separately and installed by the users. The 1761-CBL-PM02 communication cable can be used as part of a DF1 master-slave network with a modem or as part of a DH-485 network.
