It is equipped with an RS-232 port which provides isolation and will auto-baud on power-up for detecting the communications of the port setting of the controller attached to it. The 1761-NET-ENI is provided with the ability to force Ethernet to 11 Mbps or 100 Mbps and half-duplex or full-duplex where the default us auto negotiable. Configuration over Ethernet can be done with a configuration security mask provision.
