* The Allen Bradley 1764-MM1 has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however we specialize in obsolete parts and can likely still supply surplus and/or refurbished replacement 1764-MM1 units instead of migration.
The 1764-MM1 is a MicroLogix 1500 compatible memory module. This memory module is mainly used to provide memory backup, practical data transfer from one controller to another and data recovery during controller’s fault condition. This memory module has an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) memory type and does not require a backup battery to retain the moduel’s contents. the memory contents are retained without the need of a battery.
The 1764-MM1 compares with an compact and portable assembly with integrated memory amounting to 8 Kilo Bytes. This memory module permits saving of user program, perform Data Back-Up, perform Program Compare, implement Data File Download Protection and Memory Module Write Protection. This module supports Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP) however, a power cycle may be needed to allow the processor to recognize the installed memory module.
One of the primary use of this memory module is to perform program data and backup. This feature is implemented by saving the controller’s downloaded user program to the memory. With a non-volatile EEPROM type memory module, a litium battery or any battery is not required to mainthe contents of this module. This enables transporting and installing this module to another controller. Additionally, the processor using the 1764-MM1 is permitted for automatic loading of the user program the memory module during every power cycle of the controller. This provides another layer of security and increases process and machine uptime.
The 1764-MM1 is attached to the processor unit to provide safety/security for press control applications and other critical applications, and for auto-recovery of the controller’s program data, in the event of power failure leading to controller fault. The memory module also helps to compare programs in the controller’s processor, and it provides write-protection to the controller’s program data. It has a battery-backed memory capacity of 8 KB, with 5 years minimum of battery lifespan at 40°C, and it can be attached and removed with ease, while the controller is still operating. The Allen-Bradley 1764-MM1 MicroLogix 1500 Memory Module is protected from debris, oil, chemicals, and corrosion by an IP20 enclosure. The 1764-MM1, like every module component of the MicroLogix 1500 system, is built to withstand an operating shock of up to 20G, with an operating vibration of up to 2G at 10 to 500Hz, and it is cUL-us and CE certified.

The memory size of the 1764-MM1 is 8KB.
No, the 1762-MM1 has a non-volatile memory type therefore, batteries are not needed.
Yes. Automatic loading of user program is one of the primary purpose of this memory module.
Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 with Memory Module function, 8 Kb memory, and DH-485, Modbus, DF1, and ACSII communication
The Allen-Bradley 1764-MM1 is a memory module that is compatible for use with MicroLogix 1500 controller. This memory module has the least amount of memory compared to other memories of the same product line however, it is able to perform the primary functions such as enable practical and simplified program transport, implement automatic loading and write protection. Having a memory module installed is always better without one installed.
