The Allen-Bradley 1766-L32AWAA is a compact Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that is an ideal solution for micro and small automation requirements. This controller is part of the MicroLogix 1400 controller family with embedded functionalities, allowing this controller to implement digital and analog controls, both in manual or automatic mode. This controller has built-in discrete and analog I/O channels as well as variety of communication interfaces.

The 1766-L32AWAA comes with Two (2) serial communication interfaces, with primary serial interface having a 9-pin sub-D RS232C connector while the secondary serial interface having a circular 8-pin mini-DIN physical port. Both serial ports are compatible with a variety of communication protocols such as DH-485, DF1 Full-Duplex, DF1 Half-Duplex Master and Slave, DF1 Radio Modem, Modbus RTU Master and Slave, ASCII and DNP3 Slave. It is also equipped with One (1) RJ45 port supporting Ethernet I/P protocol for networked communication, supporting transmission speed of 10/100 Mbps communication speed. These ports may be used for programming and communication with Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA).

The Ethernet interface supports BOOTP DHCP by default, allowing IP address configuration without the need of the programming software. Additionally, this same communication port provides physical connection to the embedded webserver that may be accessed using standard web browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

The 1766-L32AWAA has built-in Twenty (20) 120VAC discrete inputs, Two (2) Voltage analog inputs, Twelve (12) Relay outputs and Two (2) Voltage output channels. It also supports installation of up to Seven (7) 1762 I/O modules for expanding the embedded I/O capability of the controller.

The 1766-L32AWAA controller requires 120-240V AC input power and has battery-backed RAM. It supports 32 digital I/O points with 20 digital 120V AC inputs, 12 Relay outputs and 6 analog (12 bits) I/O points with 4 inputs and 2 outputs. It can be expanded by connecting it with as many as seven 1762 expansion I/O modules. It has dimensions of 3.5 x 7.08 x 3.43 in. and a weight of 2 lbs.
