The 1770-KF2 is a communication interface module from Allen-Bradley. This module is specifically a Data Highway or Data Highway Plus Asynchronous interface module supporting RS-232-C or RS-422-A electrical standards. It is mainly used to provide point-to-point and multi-drop communication capability that supports the mentioned electrical standards. The 1770-KF2 comes with a 15-pin male EIA D-connector for Data Highway interfacing; a 15-pin male EIA D-connector for Peer Communication Link; a 9-pin female EIA D-connector intended for Data Highway Monitor and a 25-pin male EIA D-connector for Asynchronous RS-232-C/RS-422-A connection. Supported communication rates are 57,600 bits per second for data highway and peer communication links while the asynchronous link is selectable from 110 to 9600 bits per second. The compatible communication cable is 1770-CD for the data highway. This interface module is designed for tabletop mounting or installation to any flat surface. To ensure continuous operation, it is recommended to be placed inside a controlled environment such as a control room or office area. The module’s input voltage requirement is 115 V/60 Hz or 230 V/50 Hz and has a power rating of 3.5 Watts.
