1771-DMC

The Allen-Bradley 1771-DMC is a control coprocessor module. Unlike the traditional programmable controllers, it expands its capability. The module runs C, BASIC, and assembler programs. These allow the module to conduct tasks and applications more efficiently. Communication is technical because it uses the Ethernet or the asynchronous serial communication port in communicating to devices outside the controller system. The module can examine and manipulate the input and output information collected from the controller. Using the features of the C and BASIC programs, the module can compute complex math and algorithms. The 1771-DMC control coprocessor's backplane current is 2.5 A at +5V DC without Ethernet. Its AUI port produces 450 mA at 15V DC backplane current. In environmental conditions, the operating temperature ranges from 0-60°C and the -40-85° C storage temperature. The relative humidity is 5 - 95% non-condensing. The communication ports are the RS-232 with 9-pins and wire category 2 at COMM0 and the RS-232/423/485/422 compatible with 25-pins and a wire category 2 at COMM1 in 60 °C. The Ethernet ports can have TCP/IP protocol using the FTP, TELNET or the socket library routines; INTERCHANGE server, SNMP compatible (MIB I) with 15-pins standard transceiver and wire category 2, at 60°C, 802.3 compliant. The communication rates in Ethernet is 10 Mbps and 110, 150, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, and 9600 bps, 19.2 Kbps and 38.4 Kbps for COMM 0 and COMM 1. The module’s 1771 I/O chassis can be directly connected to the PLC-5, on the same chassis as the controller but stand alone, or remotely connected from the controller and stand alone. The keying of the main module on the upper C connector is between pins 24 and 26 and between pins 30 and 32. The keying on the serial expander module is between pins 16 and 18 of the upper C connector, pins 2 and 4 for the lower D connector, and pins 16 and 18 of the lower D connector.
