1771-IE

The Allen-Bradley 1771-IE is an 8-bit Analog Input Module that measures analog signals at its inputs that are converted to 3-digit BCD values (0-255) for PC processor use. It has eight single-ended channels with the same current or voltage range. It is compatible with any PC processor using the 1771 I/O structure. It can accommodate a connection with up to eight analog sensing devices that work with variables like light intensity, temperature, pressure, and position. These devices should have outputs that conform to the current range for which the module has been calibrated. The single-slot 1771-IE Analog Input can be inserted into any I/O slot. However, to minimize noise, try to group analog input modules together within the I/O chassis. To further optimize performance, do not place analog inputs near high voltage DC or AC modules. This module ships with the 1771-WB Field Wiring Arm. To connect devices to the module’s wiring arm, use the Belden 8761 or equivalent cable. The 1771-IE Module features self-diagnostics. It can detect errors in data conversion and transmission as well as an accurate level of the user-supplied voltage ranging from ±15V DC and +5V DC. When an error is detected, data transfer is stopped. The operator must correct the error before restarting.
