The Allen-Bradley 1771-IFC is a PLC 5 Analog Input Module. It is an earlier model of the 1771-IF with the same specifications. It is an intelligent module that interfaces analog inputs with PLC processors using block transfer programming. It uses up to 16-bit resolution and performs the required analog-to-digital conversions and vice versa to interface analog signals with PLC data table values. It has various applications such as temperature and pressure sensing, level sensing, and flow metering. The 1771-IFC Series B module has 8 single-ended inputs. It has a voltage range of 1 – 5V DC, 0 – 10V DC, -10 – 10V DC, and 0 – 5V DC. It has a current range of 4 – 20mA, 0 – 20Ma, and -20 – 20mA. It has a maximum Off-state AC/DC current of 1.7mA and backplane current load of 1.3A at 5V DC. It has a channel update time of 8ms for 8 channels and 12 bits plus sign resolution. It has a typical signal delay of 24ms (±10) at on/off-AC state, 10ms (±4) at on-DC state, and 20ms (±9) at off-DC state. It comes with a 1771-WB wiring arm to replace the module, eliminating the need to disconnect wiring. It requires one slot for installation in an I/O chassis and keying bands for correct installation are between pins 6-8 and 22-24 for the left connector and pins 4-6 and 32-34 for the right connector. The 1771-IFC module contains a green RUN and a red FAULT indicator lights on the front panel. It contains optoelectrical isolation to protect the system circuits from electrical transients. It also contains input filtering feature to reduce electrical noise.
