The Allen-Bradley 1771-IGC is a PLC 5 Digital DC Input Module. It is an earlier model of the 1771-IG with the same specifications. It converts DC signals provided by user devices to the logic level needed by the processor. It directly controls the corresponding bits state in the PLC data table. It provides a modular design with space-saving and pocket-friendly means for adding input to a PLC control system. It has a 1771-WC wiring arm for replacing the module, eliminating the need to disconnect the wiring. It is a series A module and supports ½, 1, and 2-slot I/O addressing. It has application in TTL interfaces and BCD interfaces encoders. It has logic switches with which the “High = True” or “Low = True” logic operation can be selected. The 1771-IGC module has 8 inputs with 5V DC TTL voltage category. It has an operating voltage range of 5.0 – 5.3V DC TTL-compatible. It has an input signal delay of less than 1ms. Its maximum customer supply current per module is 500mA and its backplane current load is 122mA. Its maximum power dissipation is 3.3W and the thermal dissipation is 11.3 BTU/hr. It is installed in a 1771 I/O chassis containing a PLC processor. Keying bands for putting it in the right slot are between pins 34 and 36 for the upper connector and pins 4 and 6 for the lower connector. The 1771-IGC module contains eight status indicators for sensing TTL voltages on the front panel. It has optoelectrical isolation to protect the system circuits from electrical transients and it contains input an filter to reduce electrical noise.
