The Allen-Bradley 1771-IR is a PLC-5 RTD input that features a natural binary BDC-supported actual temperature and Ohm readings data format. This device does not require any kind of external power. It consists of 6 three-wire RTD Inputs. The channel update resolution for this device brings in a combination of 50ms/6 channel and 16 bits +sign (1.0 Celsius /1.0Fahrenheit/bit). The voltage range for the 1771-IR input module is 100 Ohms platinum and 10 Ohms other. It has a backplane current range of 800mA. The DC signal delay in On-state is 10ms and in the Off-state it is 50ms while the AC signal delay in On-state is 45(+/- 15) ms. These input modules have a life of up to 100 million operations because it meets the requirement for a voltage of 10-276V AC. The 1771-IR also helps in the protection of your system by providing appropriate troubleshooting aids. The module indicators show smart input or output status to help you in troubleshooting your device. The 1771-IR features a smart mixture interface to On/OFF devices like switches, motor starters, pushbuttons, pilot lights, and annunciators. This unique feature helps in saving system engineering and spare parts and inventory and training costs as well. The front panel of each of the AC discrete input-output module consists of bright status indicators.
The 1771-IR supports Celsius and Fahrenheit units of measurement. It can be used in temperature measurement range of -200 to +870 Degree Celsius for Platinum sensor and -200 to +260 Degree Celsius for Copper sensor. It has a resistance range of 1.00 to 600.00 Ohms and resolution of 0.1 Degree Celsius or 0.1 Degree Fahrenheit when used with Platinum sensor and 0.3 Degree Celsius or 0.5 Degree Fahrenheit.
The 1771-IR draws Current from the backplane amounting to 950 mA at 5VDC with Power Dissipation of 4.75 Watts and Thermal Dissipation of 16.2 BTU/hr.
It is capable of open wire detection.
The 1771-IR is compatible for use with the PLC2, PLC3 and PLC5 controllers. It may also be installed in a variety of chassis such as 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B and 1771-A4B I/O chassis. This module uses the 1771-WF swing arm for terminating signal wires with keying between 10 and 12 or between 28 and 30.
