The Allen-Bradley 1771-IS I/O module is designed to read the status of the multiple 3 digits or 4 digits BDC thumbwheel switch. The device is equipped to read up to 22 hard-contact switch devices at a time. You can also utilize this device to detect the off-to-on transition with the transferring the switches in the steady state. The BCD thumbwheel switches are convenient for changing and setting the values of timers and counters and the values of process variables. The 1771-IS has the capacity to scan to a maximum of 72 switch contacts. The contacts that you get can be scanned to a normal limit of 15.3ms and a fast limit of 5.1ms. You can easily user select the scan time for your convenience. In one scan, you can examine up to 8 switch contacts from 9 switch banks. The scanning process here in the device is continuous unless and until interrupted by any user program instructions to transfer the switch contact data to the required data table. The 1771-IS I/O module features 72 direct digital inputs of up to 4-digit BDC TW and 63 digits of BDC TW along with 72 discrete switches. The input voltage range of this device is 5V DC. This device has an only one slot for input and a protective conformal coating.
