|

The Allen-Bradley 1771-IVN module is an input module from the PLC 5 series which can be used as a key component in a PLC 5 control system. It is compatible with all the current chassis from the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1771 product line. The 1771-IVN input module supports half-slot addressing without any restrictions and 1-slot addressing under the right conditions, but it cannot support 2-slot addressing. It uses 32 input image bits in the data table but no output image bits. The 1771-IVN input module comes with sourcing inputs and it is meant to be used with sinking outputs.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-IVN is a PLC 5 Digital DC Input Module. It converts DC signals provided by user devices to the logic level needed by the processor. It directly controls the state of corresponding bits in the PLC data table. It provides a modular design with space-saving and pocket-friendly means to add input to a PLC control system. It has a 1771-WN wiring arm to replace the module, eliminating the need for disconnecting wiring. The 1771-IVN is a series C module and supports ½ and 1-slot I/O addressing. It has applications in Sink DC input signal termination. The 1771-IVN module has 32 (4 sets of 8) inputs with a 10 – 60V DC Source (Sink load) voltage category. It has an operating voltage range of 10 – 30V DC. Its typical signal delay is 6ms (±2) in On-DC state and 6ms (±2) in Off-DC state. It has a maximum Off-state current of 1.7mA and a backplane current load of 280mA. It has a maximum power dissipation of 15.6W and thermal dissipation of 53.3 BTU/hr. The 1771-IVN is installed in a 1771 I/O chassis containing a PLC processor. Keying bands for putting it in the right slot is between pins 14 and 16 for the lower connector and pins 30 and 32 for the upper connector. The 1771-IVN module has 32 status indicators for system logic side indication at the front panel. It has optoelectrical isolation for protecting the system circuits from electrical transients. The 1771-IVN also contains an input filtering feature for reducing electrical noise.
