1771-NIV

The Allen-Bradley 1771-NIV a high-resolution analog input module that is part of the 1771 product bulletin. This analog input module features Eight (8) input channels, compatible for input signals such as +/-5V input (+/-20mA with resistor RTP) with resolution of 16-bits. This module is compatible for use with the 1771-A1B, A2B, A3B, A3B1, A4B, 1771-AM1 and AM2 chassis.

The 1771-NIV is compatible with different processors such as PLC3 and PLC5 controllers. IT is not compatible for use with the PLC2 processors. The 1771-NIV has backplane current draw of 1.5 Amperes and Power dissipation of 6.0 Watts. This module has an input filtering of 6 pole, low pass hardware filter with recommended calibration interval of 1 year. It has an operating temperature of 32-to 140 Degree Fahrenheit or 0 to 60 Degree Celsius and storage temperature of -40 to 185 Degree Fahrenheit or 040 to 85 Degree Celsius.

The 1771-NIV has a built-in analog to digital converter and allows scaling of data to engineering unit.

Data captured by the analog input module is sent and received using the Block Transfer Write (BTW) and Block Transfer Read (BTR) instructions. This module does not support removal and insertion under power. This module has RUN / FLT status indicator for monitoring of the module’s operational status and CAL/COM indicator for indicating BTR/BTW activity and calibration phase. The impedance at the input is in excess of 10 megaohms and the module provides 140V AC RMS (continuous) overvoltage protection. 5s is the maximum time taken by the 1771-NIV to detect that an input is open. The rejection for the normal mode is a minimum of 50 dB/60 dB and the rejection for the common mode is 150 dB (typical). The gain drift specification is +/-35ppm/Deg. Celsius (+/-55pm/deg. Celsius, with a resistor) and the offset drift specification is +/-20? V/deg. Celsius (+/-85nA/deg. Celsius, with a resistor). The bandwidth range at input channels is 9Hz. 25s is the maximum update time per module. The under-range specification is 0.8V DC (3.2mA) while the over-voltage specification is 5.2V DC (20.8mA). The 1771-NIV’s values for calibration are 0.0000V/5.00V. The 771-NIV should be used in conjunction with the Allen-Bradley RTP-4 device for voltage inputs, and with the Allen-Bradley RTP-3 device for current inputs. This module does not supports hot-swap capability. The 1771-NIV is designed for environments with an operating temperature ranging from 0 to 60 deg. Celsius (32 to 140 deg. Fahrenheit) at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity.
