|

The 1771-NT2 input module is a thermocouple type of input module with 8 channels. It has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley in the PLC 5 product line. The 1771-NT2 thermocouple input module supports thermocouple inputs that are Type B, E, J, K, R, S, and T thermocouple inputs, and it also supports Type C and Type N thermocouple inputs, which not every PLC 5 thermocouple input module can support. This input module is open-type equipment, which means that it does not have a protective enclosure. The 1771-NT2 thermocouple input module should not be used at temperatures higher than 60 degrees Celsius or at non-condensing relative humidity levels higher than 95%.

The Allen Bradley High-resolution Isolated Analog Module 1771-NT2 has 0.01% typical accuracy based on 65,000 count capability over Full Scale Range (FSR). This module has programmable reset values for outputs; it selects the best reset value specified by the application requirements, with each channel being configured independently. The 1771-NT2 was designed for demanding applications including process control; it has a 16-bit resolution, an Input Bandwidth of 9 Hertz, and a maximum update time of  25 milliseconds.

The 1771-NT2 has an underrange threshold of -5.5 mV while its overrange threshold is +56.0 mV. Its normal mode rejection  is (50/60 Hertz) of 50dB/60dB (minimum) with a common mode rejection at (60 Hertz) of 150dB (typical). Dissipating power at 5 Volts of 5 Watts, its maximum backplane current is 1 A.

The relative humidity of this unit is generally between 5% and 95% without condensation; its operating temperature usually lies between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) while its nonoperating temperature hangs between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit).

The 1771-NT2 is manufactured as open type equipment: its expected use is in an industrial environment no greater than Pollution 2 (as defined in EN / IEC0664-1) when applied in a Zone 2 environment, and its enclosure should be accessible only by means of the appliance. It is advisable to use IOCONFIG to configure this module.
