The 1771-OND PLC 5 is a digital output module from the 1771 Digital I/O module series by Allen-Bradley. This module is installed to any slot of the 1771 I/O chassis. The operational output voltage ranges between 10 and 60V AC at 47-63Hz and the maximum current rating on each output is 2A with the aggregate not exceeding 8A. The 1771-OND has 25A for a 100ms surge current on each output and the entire module, repeating every 1 second, and the lowest current sustained by the output to remain ON is 50mA per output at 24V AC (60 Hertz). The module has a 1.6V drop voltage at 2A in ON-state, and it has a 3mA per output leakage current at 24V AC, with 1ms and 8.3-9.1ms output signal delay time for OFF to ON and ON to OFF. The 1771-OND has an operational power dissipation of 16.5 Watts and it draws a 700mA current from the I/O backplane at 5V DC. The module is fused with 1/4 x 1/4 inches size, 10A, 250V rectifier fuse, and it offers voltage isolation that meets or exceeds UL and CSA standards. The 1771-OND requires a standard field wiring arm with a wiring screw torque of 7-9 inch-pounds or an optional fussed field wiring arm, and the module’s circuit uses 14-gauge (2mm2) stranded wire for conductors with 3/64 inches thick insulation. The 1771-OND has a 0-60 0C working temperature range at 5-95% non-condensing humidity, and it is CE, CSA, and UL-certified.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-OND is a discrete output module from the 1771 Product bulletin. This module is specifically a 24 Volt output module which delivers an output voltage range of 10-60 Volts AC along a frequency of 47-63 Hertz. It has sixteen (16) output channels with each channel capable or providing an output current of 2 Amperes with maximum output current of 8 Amperes per module.

The 1771-OND is installed to an 1771 chassis. It is compatible to be installed in Series A or B 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, 1771-A3B1, 1771-A4B, 1771-AM1, and 1717-AM2 Chassis. To connect this module to the actuating device or electrical loads, signal wires must be terminated to this module via compatible wiring arms. Compatible wiring arms for use with this module include 1771-WH or the 1771-WHF that comes with integral fusing. The module’s compatible keying is between 20 and 22 and between 32 and 34. If a non-fused wiring arm is used, external fusing may be implemented to protect each output channel. Appropriate fuse for use is a 10 Ampere, 250 Volts AC rated fuse, rectifier type with size of ¼ x 1-1/4 inch. Recommended fuse brand and part number is Littelfuse PN 33210; however, an equivalent brand may be used. When terminating signal wires to the wiring arm of this module, recommended wire size is 14 gauge or 2 mm2 stranded wire with maximum insulation thickness 0f 3/64 inch or 1.2 millimeters.

The 1771-OND has a surge current rating of 25 Amperes per output channels for 100 milliseconds that is repeatable for every 1 second. Additionally, the same surge current rating is applicable per module. Furthermore, the module’s minimum load current is 50 milliamperes per output @ 24 Volts AC and frequency of 60 Hertz. It has a maximum on-state voltage drop of 1.6 Volts at 2 Amperes and a maximum off-state leakage current of 3 milliamperes per output at 24 Volts AC.
