The 1771-PA power supply module is a PLC 5 series power supply module from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It supports a nominal input voltage rating of 120/220 Volts AC. The 1771-PA power supply module can provide modules with input voltage ranges of 97 to 132 Volts AC or 195 to 264 Volts AC at frequencies of 47 to 63 Hertz. It can be used to power all of the devices in 1 Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1771 I/O chassis. The 1771-PA power supply module is an open type of module that should be protected from electrostatic discharge and installed inside an enclosure for protection from dust, debris, and liquids.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-PA is a power supply module rated at 120-220V AC. It has a nominal input voltage/current of 1Amp at 120V and of 0.5Amp at 220V AC. It comes with a frequency of 50-60Hz. The 1771-PA can power one 1771 chassis when used with any adapter, PLC-5 family processor, or Mini-PLC-2 (/02, /05, /16, /17) programmable controller module. This stand-alone power supply is not designed for parallel connection. Connecting in parallel can result in injury or processor memory loss due to unexpected machine operation. Before installing the External 1771-PA Power Supply, mount the I/O chassis and set the power supply configuration jumper to the N position. This module can be attached to a panel-mounted chassis using the supplied mounting screws. The 1771-PA can also be mounted separately, maintaining a minimum vertical clearance of 6 inches. Only mount above or next to the I/O chassis. Mounting below can cause convection cooling problems for both devices. The 1771-PA is an “open type” module that must be mounted within a suitable enclosure. It is sensitive to electrostatic discharge that can cause damage to system components and performance degradation. To guard against this, avoid touching the connector pins or backplane connector. Before handling this module, touch a grounded object to get rid of charge. When not in use, store it in the static-shield bag that is has been shipped with.
