1772-LP3

The 1772-LP3 PLC-2/30 processor is a central processing unit that has been manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It features 256 words of memory, 896 I/O maximum, and 120 to 240 Volts AC input voltage. The processor weights about 25 pounds. The system configuration for the processor consists of scanners, interface modules, input/output modules, and power supplies. The 1772-LP3 PLC-2/30 processor has a Data Highway compatibility. This processor can be connected to the Allen-Bradley Data Highway or other industry-standard networks. There is a 4-position mode select switch which is located on the front of the processor. The 1772-LP3 PLC-2/30 processor contains a read/write CMOS memory. The user program that contains the operations to be performed can be entered into the memory as a ladder diagram or functional block display format.

The 1772-LP3 PLC-2/30 processor continuously monitors the status of input devices based on the user program instructions to actuate the output devices. It also has a programmable memory. The functions of this processor include relay-type functions, timing functions, self-monitoring, and diagnostic capabilities. The 1770-T3 and 1784-T50 terminals provide full PLC-2/30 capability. It has on-line programming facilities and  areports generation feature. The processor can control up to 896 inputs and 896 outputs for a total of 1,792 I/O points in a remote system of seven 128 I/O racks. If a run-time error occurs, the processor halts program execution and the "PROCESSOR FAULT" indicator illuminates. The PLC-2/30 processor system can also be configured with a combination of local and remote I/O chassis. This processor can be used in a variety of industrial applications such as process control, palletizing, pollution control, and monitoring applications.
