The Allen-Bradley 1772-LZ is a Mini-PLC-2/02 processor. It has a memory size of 2K 16-bit words RAM and a data table size of 48-1920 floating words. Typical I/O capacities of this processor are 128 total I/O and 128 analog I/O. The 1772-LZ’s program scan time is a minimum of 7.5 ms/K and 12 ms for typical application programs. I/O scan is available with this processor and available times are 0.82 ms for 2-slot addressing 2 ms for 1-slot processing, and 2.15 ms for 1/2-slot processing. It has a backplane current requirement of 1.25 A and a non-condensing relative humidity of 5-95%.
A 15-pin interface port is also available with the 1772-LZ processor, as well as a self-contained lithium battery that can maintain the memory for up to a year without AC power applied to the processor. This processor also has a key switch on the front panel for mode selection, as well as status indicators.
Features of this processor include report generation, data highway interface, full I/O forcing when using 2-slot addressing, and online data change and programming. The recurring subroutine is present because of the selectable timed interrupt of the processor. The 1772-LZ also has basic and advanced instruction sets available. The basic instruction set has up to 488 timers and counters in the processors, data manipulation and comparison, three-digit math with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, relay-like instructions, and program control instructions. For the advanced instruction set, it has EAF functions like 6-digit math with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, jump instructions and subroutine programming, bit shift register instructions for bit shifts, sequencer instructions, block transfer instructions, and data-transfer file instructions.
