It accommodates a substantial I/O count, supporting up to 896 standard points that can be mixed. In configurations utilizing paired racks, this panel expands to allow a total of 1792 I/O points, maximizing operational capabilities within complex systems.

Its maximum supply current is rated at 2 A, providing adequate power to connected devices. This scanner is compatible with PLC-2 controllers, including models PLC-2/20 and PLC-2/30. Each channel permits a maximum of 16 adapters, facilitating diverse connections to a network using twinaxial cable. For communication, the 1772-SD2 ensures long-range capabilities, achieving distances of 10,000 feet at a baud rate of 57.6k and 5,000 feet at 115.2k baud for reliable data transfer.

Operational efficiency is reflected in its nominal scan time of between 7 ms to 8.5 ms per rack, with the ability to execute one block transfer for every I/O scan. The panel features eight bi-color LEDs that serve as status indicators, allowing for easy monitoring of system performance.
