1785-MS

The 1785-MS is a CMOS RAM module that has been designed and distributed by Allen-Bradley to be exclusively used with the programming modules of this series. The compatible processors for this module are PLC-5/15 and -5/25. CMOS memory stores information about the system settings, for example, bus speed, hard drives installed and the start sequence of the system. Often CMOS memories tend to be taken as a BIOS due to the functionality these have. The Allen-Bradley 1785-MS CMOS RAM module is linked to the real-time clock of the PLC. This part is important when selecting the PLC and the settings it will have. For example, after having selected a specific PLC processor, a chassis needs to be selected and afterward a memory module along with a replacement battery. Once all these parts have been selected, an additional memory can be chosen from the catalog to improve the performance of the processor.

The programmer needs to be prepared and programmed to work with an additional memory and this memory needs to be routed to the programmer and applications it will support. The Allen-Bradley 1785-MS CMOS RAM module is sensitive to electrostatic discharge and it can be installed in locations with a temperature between the 0 and 60 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 5 to 95 percent.  Electronic parts are sensitive to weather conditions since these can be easily corroded.
