The 2760-RB module is an Allen-Bradley flexible analog interface module. It is a 2-slot module that can be installed in an Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O rack with a PLC-5 processor. The 2760-RB module enables communication between devices that use different communication protocols such as Allen-Bradley PLCs, message displays, serial printers, programmable limit switches, RF antennas, barcode systems, and machine vision products. The 2760-RB module supports the RS-485, RS-422, and RS-232 interfaces. An external protocol cartridge can be plugged into one of the 2 slots located on the front of the module. The protocol cartridge configures each of the device ports on the 2760-RB module. The backplane power requirements of the module are 1.28 Amps of current at 5 Volts DC.

The 2760-RB module can be used to provide an interface for SLC 500 devices. This can be done through the use of the 2760-SFC3 protocol cartridge. Three configurable channels can be used to communicate with RF dataliner, barcode, and PLC systems. The interface module is configured through 4 DIP switches. The module can also be configured through the configuration port. The module can be used to connect to an AdaptaScan barcode reader with the RS-232 protocol. For this application, either a 2760-SFC1 or 2760-SFC2 protocol cartridge will be required. The module can also be used to connect to an AdaptaScan barcode reader over the DH-485 protocol. For this application, a 2760-SFC2 protocol cartridge will be required. Five status LEDs are provided on the front panel of the 2760-RB module. The dimensions of the 2760-RB module are 3 x 6 x 10 inches and the approximate module weight is 1 pound.
