The Allen-Bradley 5110-A8 Pyramid Integrator 8 Slot Chassis Series A chassis is an 8-slot chassis of the pyramid integrator system, which provides a backplane for the PI processor module to communicate, and also a platform for the installation of other PI modules. It can be mounted in either the panel mounting configuration or the rack mounting configuration via a mounting bracket, and it is built to accommodate a maximum of 8 slots for PI modules and the Allen-Bradley CVIM modules. Like the 4-slot chassis series, it is also compatible with the Allen-Bradley 5120-PI Series B power supply modules, and the 5120-PI Series B power supply module is installed on the leftmost slot of the 5110-A8 which is dedicated to the power supply.
The 5110-A8 requires an AC power source with a supply range of 90 to 132 Volts AC, and it provides a 5 Volts DC backplane output voltage at 35 Amps, and 12 Volts DC output voltage at 800mA. It provides backplane power to various Pyramid Integrator I/O modules attached to it chassis slots, and it also provides housing to these installed modules. The 5110-A8 Pyramid Integrator chassis is rack-installed by attaching it to a mounting bracket in front of the chassis, and it is fastened using 10 by 32 screws and lock washers. 2 drilled clearance holes are made on the marked point for attaching modules, and each component is then attached to the rack. The 5110-A8 has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius without de-rating at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity, and it weighs about 5 pounds, with a net volume of 481 x 406 x 256 millimeters.
