The 5120P2 is a power supply module that is a part of a pyramid integrator system, manufactured and designed by Allen-Bradley. The Allen-Bradley 5120P2 power supply module features a fan chassis, a DC and over-temperature indicator, an ON/OFF backplane voltage, and other connections that are important in order to attach the supply module to the pyramid integrator. The installation of the Allen-Bradley 5120P2 power supply module into the pyramid integrator is composed of a few simple steps; first, users must set the power supply operating voltage switch at 115 or 230 Volts AC, depending on the application (the switch is factory set at 230 Volts AC). After this, the module should be installed in the chassis. This step is very similar to other PI modules installation, for which users need to check the module worksheet to determine the size of the slot and once the module is inserted and secured into the chassis slot the power supply can be turned on.
It is utterly important to keep the power supply off while dealing with the installation process. An external fan assembly can be connected to the Allen-Bradley 5120P2 power supply module. The right-angle connector of the fan status cable must be connected to the "fan chassis" port on the power supply. This fan can help the whole pyramid system to operate within the recommended temperature. The Allen-Bradley 5120P2 power supply module can also be connected to an external source. In order to avoid electromagnetic interference, all the components of the pyramid integrator system must be grounded It is recommended to use an equipment-grounding conductor.
