The 5130-RM1 is an Allen Bradley Resource Manager module 128K pyramid integrator 128K, used with Allen Bradley's PLC-5/250â„¢ programmable controller. This industrial control system weighs approximately 2,155 kilograms and contains a system memory for 192 thousand words. In addition to that, its user-defined global memory can be accessed by other Pyramid Integrator modules. This aforementioned global memory should be used for data that is to be shared with multiple LPs (Logic Processors). The 5130-RM1 can come with two 3 Pin Male Connectors, 9 Pin Female Connectors or 25 Pin Female Connectors. The resource manager (RM hereafter) operates on 5 Volts DC at 2.9 AMPS, or at 12 Volts DC at 0.07 AMPS. The 5130-RM1 is the only module apart from the power supply that is slot-dependent, and as such should be installed in the leftmost slot of the chassis, next to the power supply. A chassis can house only one RM.
The 5130-RM1 is one of the key system components of Allen Bradley’s advanced PLC-5/250 programmable controller with modular processor power. Every PLC-5/250 processor must have an RM, which can be used along with a KA (Data Highway/Data Highway Plus Interface), although this is optional for additional communication channels. The Resource Manager determines bus communication in the backplane and establishes communication with the external devices on the plant floor. More specifically, it plays a crucial role in handling and recording faults in the system. Not only is the 5130-RM1 a programming interface for PLC-5/250, it also controls system configuration, as well as the power-up and power-down of the system.   The Resource Manager contains two DH (Data Highway) and DH+ (Data Highway Plus) ports, as well as a table with shared data. This resource manager can receive a message at one DH+ (Data Highway Plus) port and send the same message either to another DH+ port or another RM.
