The Allen-Bradley 5150MRS is a PLC Remote Scanner Daughter Board. This board is used as a part member of the Remote Scanner Module (catalog number; 5150-RS). The 5150MRS is part of the automation and control process of printing and scanning various types of equipment. The power requirements of this board are 5 Volt DC with 1A or 12 Volts DC with 0.02A. In the case of an application that uses DDMC32 software 6404-DDMC with one PLC-5 Processor, then the Remote Scanner Module with 5150MRS daughterboard with a firmware designated part number of 960456-05, - 06, or -07 that is info readable in the bottom part of the board should be used along with it. If this daughterboard is not used along with the DDMC32 PLC-5 processor, this module’s image table or internal storage table could experience the appearance of inaccurate data.
If this board needs to be replaced or repaired, the first step to removing it is to unlock it from its position. Then slide one thumb tab to the right and lift it gently. Pull the thumb tab slightly further to the right, then insert fingers under the left edge and lift; flip the panel over to expose the connector and push out the locking tabs to separate the connectors. At this point, the module is ready to receive a new part in the place of the old one that has just been removed. Take up a connector of a new part and connect it to the system; squeeze the connectors together to make sure that locking tabs on connectors are “in” and flip the board over to gently slide it back in position. To complete this procedure, tightly lock this board into its new position. Note that all the steps of this replacement procedure should be completed in an environment static safe, in order to prevent a potentially dangerous electromagnetic discharge.
