1745-E101

The 1745-E101 is an expansion module that is part of the 1745 SLC 100 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform of Allen-Bradley. This module is manufactured by Allen-Bradley with the primary intended use of expanding the built-in input and output channels of the base SLC 100 processor. The 1745-E101 comes with input and output channels particularly, Ten (10) 115 VAC discrete input, Six (6) Normally Open (N.O.) relay contact outputs operable at 10-250 VAC, 50/60 Hz, or 10-125 VDC while the module is externally powered by an input supply voltage of 100/200 VAC, 120 / 240 VAC at a supply input frequency of 50/60 Hz. This module comes with an integrated fuse that can be replaced by an approved equivalent or Allen-Bradley recommended Sano SOCSD4 D250V315Ma. This expansion module comes with screw terminals that must be terminated with signal wires that match the ampacity of a 60 / 75 Degree Celsius rated solid or stranded copper wire. The 1745-E101 comes with an individual channel status indicator to depict input channel activity and output channel activity. An illuminated LED depicts that the specific channel is at Logic 1 condition or actively receiving external input signal or switched ON to energize a connected output. The 1745-E101 mounts to a standard 35 mm DIN rail via the mounting tabs installed at the base of the module. Alternatively, it may also be mounted directly to the enclosure subpanel via the provided mounting screw holes at each corner of the expansion module. For connection to the PLC processor, this expansion module comes with a ribbon cable that directly attaches to the main processor.

The Allen-Bradley 1745-E101 expansion unit is compatible with the SLC 100 processor units to provide more I/O circuits for a variety of applications. Working on 10 to 250 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz, the 1745-E101 can expand its circuitry to 112. The 1745-E101 expansion unit is convenient because these units have the same engineering circuitry as the main units that they connect to. Make sure there is proper spacing between the extra units that are being installed, and that they are NEMA-approved. The 1745-E101’s installation is easy and maintenance takes little effort. During installation, make sure the whole unit is properly grounded to avoid damage to the device or the personnel working on it. The 1745-E101 has an operating temperature range of 0 to 90 degrees Celsius with a 5 to 95% humidity rating. There are 3 configurations available in this series: basic, relay, and an analog input unit. The basic 1745-E101 unit consists of 10 inputs and 6 outputs while the relay has no inputs and 12 outputs, and the analog circuit has 2 inputs and no output circuitry. There are provisions for wire insertion due to self-lifting pressure plates.
