The Allen-Bradley 1745-E102 is compatible either with an SLC 150 processor or with 100 processor units to provide more I/O circuits for a variety of applications. The 1745-E102 runs on 10-250V AC at 50-60Hz and can expand the circuitry up to a maximum of 112. Assigning addresses to the I/O combination is easy when you can match the address blocks to the 1745-E102 and other devices in the SLC 100/150 series. A 1745-C2 unit is required to interconnect the 1745-E102 expansion units with the processor unit which is a 10-pinpoint cable.
Weighing only 4 lbs, the 1745-E102 is easy to transport and install. There are various indicators for process identification, including a green indicator for DC power and red LEDs for inputs and outputs. During installation, make sure the whole unit, including the processor and expansion unit, is properly grounded to avoid damage to the device or the personnel working on it.
The 1745-E102 is connected to a processor unit using a ribbon cable. There are 3 configurations available in this series: basic, relay, and an analog input unit. The basic unit consists of 10 inputs and 6 outputs while the relay unit has no inputs and 12 output circuits powered by a voltage range of 170-265V AC. The analog circuit has 2 inputs and no output circuitry. Make sure that the 1745-E102’s wires are routed to minimize electrical noise effects.
