The 1745-E156 from Allen Bradley operates as a discrete I/O expansion module, ideal for extending the capabilities of the SLC 150 series. It integrates 20 digital inputs that are current sourcing and optically isolated, ensuring reliable performance for control systems. This module is designed for use with the 1745-C3 communication cable.

With power requirements set at 15 VA, it can accommodate operational voltages between 10 and 30 VDC. The OFF-state voltage can reach a maximum of 4V at a leakage current of 1mA, while the nominal current ratings are 4mA at 12V DC and 8mA at 24V DC. A specified filter delay of 4 to 8 milliseconds facilitates signal integrity during transitions.

The isolation voltage rating of 1500 VDC offers robust protection between the input signals and the control logic itself. The module provides multiple output types, including 12 hard contacts (relying on relay technology) and transistor-based outputs, which cater to varied application requirements.

Relay outputs support voltage ranges of 10 to 125 VDC, with a current rating of 2.5 Amps and an apparent power capacity of 28VA. The transistor outputs function effectively within the range of 10 to 50 VDC and provide current ratings reaching 1 A at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. For added safety, the module uses a Bussman 3A, 250V AC slow-blow fuse.
