The Allen-Bradley 1745-PT1 module is a pocket programmer module. It comes standard with features such as an LED display, 7-segment LED readouts, and a keyboard with 30 momentary push keys with tactile feedback. The operating power for the Allen-Bradley 1745-PT1 pocket programmer module is supplied by the processor unit, and it has an operating ambient temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius for safe operation and with a temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius for safe storage.  The Allen-Bradley 1745-PT1 pocket programmer module is known as a "pocket programmer module" because it is small and light enough to be handheld and controlled while being handheld. It can be used with a variety of Allen-Bradley 1747 series SLC-500 processors, including several of the Allen-Bradley 1747-L2, 1747-L3, and 1747-L4  fixed SLC-500 processor modules.

The Allen-Bradley 1745-PT1 pocket programmer module uses the Allen-Bradley 1747-C10 communication cable for communication with other devices. If this module is not connected to a PLC module, then this programmer module can be powered by an Allen-Bradley 1747-NP1 power supply module or by an Allen-Bradley 1747-NP2 power supply module. This pocket programmer module uses a battery which can last for a long time but which needs to be replaced promptly when its power is low. The replacement battery for the Allen-Bradley 1745-PT1 pocket programmer module is the Allen-Bradley 1747-BA battery. This pocket programmer module uses the PTA1E memory card to store its data and its programs.
