The Allen-Bradley 1746-OW8 SLC 500 Digital Input Module comes with Eight (8) outputs. This module has a voltage category of AC/DC Relay. The operating temperature is -25-60 deg. Celsius (-13-140 deg. Fahrenheit) and the nonoperating temperature is -40-85 deg. Celsius (-40-185 deg. Fahrenheit) with a relative humidity from 5-95% without condensation. This module should be installed in an environment with a pollution level no higher than Pollution 2 (as defined in the EN / IEC0664-1 publication) when applied in a Zone 2 environment. The enclosure should be accessible only by means of an appliance or tool. Do not disconnect equipment unless the power has been removed. The Allen-Bradley 1746-OW8 is an Eight (8) channel relay output module made by Allen-Bradley that is used with SLC 500 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform. It is specifically compatible with fixed or modular style hardware for use with SLC 5/01, SLC 5/02, SLC 5/03, SLC 5/04 and SLC 5/05 controller.

Use this module with operating voltage categories of 5 -125 VDC and 5 - 265 VAC. This module is divided into Two (2) groups with 4Four (4) channels per group to allow operation with different or same voltages. Surge suppression devices may be installed to maximize the module’s designed operating lifespan.

Aside from SLC processors, this module is compatible for use in remote I/O topology. When used in Remote I/O chassis, slot 0 of the chassis is reserved for an SLC 500 communication adapter. Other slots are compatible for this module.

With the use of the 1746-OW8, the need of interposing relays may be eliminated. Interposing relays are typically used for operation with different voltage category. As this module already support the mentioned capability, the need for interposing circuit is eliminated, saving panel space and increasing cost effectiveness.

This module has similar signal delay rating of 10.0 ms for ON and OFF transitions at maximum resistive load. This module is certified for Class 1, Division 2 operation. The continuous current per module is 16.0 Ampere AC with 8.0 A per group. It occupies single slot of the chassis regardless of the installation location.
