The Allen-Bradley 1746-SIM is an Input Simulator. It designed for use in sinking modules. It has 16-channel 24V DC sources with removable terminal blocks. This module is included in the 1746-IB16, 1746-ITB16, 1746-IV16, 1746-ITV16, and the 1746-IN16 modules. This module provides 16 switches to simulate input to the SLC 500 device. Installing a 1746-SIM in a module other than the aforementioned modules may damage it and expose you to hazardous voltage.
The Allen-Bradley 1746-SIM’s operating temperature is -13-140 °F. The nonoperating temperature is -40-185 °F and the relative humidity level is 5-95% without condensation. The operating vibration of the Allen-Bradley 1746-SIM is 2g at 10-500 Hz. The Allen-Bradley 1746-SIM is tested to meet the Directive 73/23/EEC for low-voltage directive boards. This is done by applying the security requirements outlined in the EN 61131-2 Programmable Controllers, Part 2 - Equipment Requirements and Testing regulations. The Allen-Bradley 1746-SIM is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Group A, B, C, D, or non-hazardous locations only. Do not install or remove RTB (removable terminal blocks) or temporary power modules applied to SLC systems. Join the 24V DC power supply to the terminal categorized A and B as stated in the instructions at the input Simulator. In most instances, 24V DC consumer energy from the SLC 500 power supply may be used. The terminal block input A/B simulator may be eliminated to make the connection process easier.
