1747-DPS2

The 1747-DPS2 is an Allen-Bradley communication module. This module is a stand-alone device that is powered by an external voltage of 24 VDC and current requirement of 100 mA. It is primarily used to split a single DF1 connection into Two (2), enabling multiple DF1 simultaneous connection and supports other protocols. This module comes with a variety of communication ports such as It comes with One (1) DF1 controller port; One (1) network (RS232) port; One (1) Prog / HMI port and One (1) removable RS485 terminal. The 1747-DPS2 for use with Allen-Bradley’s PLC, SLC 500 and MicroLogix controller platforms. The module’s controller port communication is a 9-pin male D-shell port with autobaud detection capability at 19.2 Kbps or 38.4 Kbps as well as auto-sum BCC or CRC detection. The network port communication that supports RS485 topology is a 9-pin male D-shell, 6-pin Phoenix-style connector for DH-485 configurable for DH-485, DF1 half-duplex (master or slave), DF1 full-duplex, or DF1 radio modem networks. It supports a variety of communication protocols, extending the DF1 capabilities. The PROG / HMI port is a 9-pin male D-shell, 6-pin Phoenix-style connector for DH-485 configurable for DH-485, DF1 half-duplex (master or slave), DF1 full-duplex, or DF1 radio modem networks. The 1747-DPS2 supports DIN rail mounting. The 1747-DPS2 RS-232/DF1 Port Splitter by Allen-Bradley is an electronic device which divides the of a single RS-232/DF1 Duplex communication port into 2 separate ports with a side-by-side connection capability between two external devices. It has a DC power supply with a supply rating of 100 milliAmps at 24V DC and it provides circuit voltage isolation. The 1747-DPS2 connects to a controller through the 9-pin male D-shell communication port and when a connection is established it automatically adjusts the Transfer rate (Baud rate) to 19.2 Kbps or 38.4 Kbps with respect to the controllers baud rate and eventually matches the controller’s BCC/Cyclic Redundancy Check sum(CRC). A transmitted message initiated from the controller is received at a rate of 19.2 Kbps via the 9-pin male D-shell Network port but unlike in the 1747-DPS1, the 1747-DPS2’s D-shell port can be configured for a wider communication with a DH-485, DF1 full-duplex, or a DF1 modem network. The 1747-DPS2 is a unique device that offers complete isolation between communication ports, and thus requires no internal isolation, and it uses it 9-pin male D-shell, PROG/HMI port with a communication rate of 19.2 Kbps for direct connection to an Allen Bradley Programming Station or HMI devices (PanelView, PanelView Plus, and VersaView). The 1747-DPS2 has an operating temperature range of 0-60 0C at a non-condensing 5-95% relative humidity range and is designated T5 North America temperature code.
