The Allen-Bradley 1747-KFC15 is an SLC500 ControlNet RS-232 Interface module. This module communicates with the SLC 500 processor using the ControlNet network. The Allen-Bradley 1747-KFC15 examines the processor’s ladder program. This module comes with program operation monitoring and program-changing software. This module is a bridge between the ControlNet network and the SLC500 processor’s RS-232C serial port. The 1747-KFC15 connects to a ControlNet network of one (channel A) or both of its BNC connectors. It connects via standard ControlNet coaxial tap. The Allen-Bradley 1747-KFC15 has two connection ports. There are RS-232C serial port and network access port. The RS-232C serial port provides half duplex and full duplex compatibility. Both communicate with the serial port on your SLC500 processor. The network access port connects the ControlNet programming terminal to this module. This is for full network access without interrupting the cable wiring. The serial port uses the DF1 protocol when the network access port is handled directly.
The Allen-Bradley 1747-KFC15 is configurable with the DIP and rotary buttons in the module. This module is open equipment. It must be installed in its enclosure during operation for providing safety protection. This module has an operating temperature of 32-140° F. The storage temperature of this module is from –40-185° F. The relative humidity of this module is from 5-95% non condensing. Do not disconnect the connectors unless the power has been switched off.
