The Allen-Bradley 1747-L20L module is a fixed I/O processor module and a mixed input and output module. It is manufactured as part of the Allen-Bradley SLC 500 series and it can be used as a key component in SLC 500 industrial control systems. The 1747-L20L fixed I/O processor module uses 20 input and output channels to communicate with other I/O modules and control systems. The 20 channels in this fixed I/O processor module are all DC powered and they include 12 source inputs that are rated at 24 Volts DC and 8 DC transistor sink outputs. The 1747-L20L I/O fixed processor module has a high-speed counter and its line power ratings are 120 Volts AC or 240 Volts AC.

The Allen-Bradley 1747-L20L is a processor with an instruction capacity of 1,024 (1K). This module is equipped with a power supply and a fixed number of I/O contained in one package. The memory type of this module is capacitor-backed RAM memory. The relative humidity of this module is 5-95% without condensation. The Allen-Bradley 1747-L20 has an operating temperature of 0-60 °C (32-140 °F). The storage temperature of this module is from -40-85 °C (-40-185 °F). For most applications, normal convection cooling will keep the controlling components within the specified operating temperature range. The exact component spacing within the enclosure is usually sufficient for heat dissipation. In some applications, a large amount of heat is generated by other equipment inside or outside the enclosure. In this case, place the blower fan inside the enclosure to aid air circulation and to reduce heat near the controller. Additional cooling conditions may be required when high ambient temperatures are encountered. The Allen-Bradley 1747-L20L has a typical scan time of 8 miliseconds/1K. This module has a bit execution of 4 milliseconds. The power supply inrush rating of this module is 40 A. The maximum power requirement of this module is 50 VA. This module has a wire size of 14 AWG. The main power breaker switch should be placed where the operator and maintenance personnel have quick and easy access to it. Ideally, the breaker switch should be installed on the outside of the enclosure, so that it can be accessed without opening the lid.
