The 1747-L30A Fixed Hardware Controller is part of the Allen-Bradley PLC SLC 500 Series. The 1747-L30A operates at 85-265V AC at 47-63 Hz with 30 I/O points. The 1747-L30A also has a maximum power supply (Inrush Rating) of 30 Amperes, a maximum power requirement of 50 VA, and a 120-240V AC line power. In addition, the 1747-L30A uses a wire size of #14 AWG maximum and caters an I/O electrical-optical isolation of 1500V AC at 1 minute. Operating at an ambient temperature rating of 0-60°. The 1747-L30A possesses an I/O configuration input of (18) 120V AC and an I/O configuration output of (12) AC/DC Relay. If more I/O points are required for the system, the user can install an expansion chassis to increase the number of I/Os to 64. With an on-state voltage of 85-132V AC and a maximum off-state voltage of 30V AC, the 1747-L30A has a maximum turn-on time of 35 milliseconds and turn-off time of 45 milliseconds. Moreover, the 1747-L30A has a typical scan time of an 8 milliseconds/1K and a program scan hold-up time after a loss of power for 20-700 milliseconds. This basic fixed controller consists of a processor with a 1,024 (1K) instruction capacity, a power supply, and a fixed number of I/Os within a single package. With a capacitor-backed RAM, the 1747-L30A offers optional battery back-up and memory backup options between EEPROM and UVPROM. It has a 1K instruction capacity of program memory. Please note that this controller is not equipped with a high-speed counter. This controller uses DH-485 protocol for communication.

The 1747-L30A is an SLC 500 fixed style controller. This Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It features an integrated Power supply, a PLC controller and support Two (2) slot expansion. Integrated with this controller are Eighteen (18) 120 Volts AC and Twelve (12) AC/DC Relay.

SLC 500 modules can be installed with the expansion slot. Communication adapters, specialty and intelligent modules are installed in slot 1 of the expansion chassis.

Up to 1K of user program can be downloaded to the processor’s memory. This memory can be backed-up with the use of optional EEPROM or UVPROM memory. The embedded memory of this processor is maintained by a capacitor.

The Typical scan time of this processor 8 milliseconds per 1K memory with bit execution speed of 4 microseconds. Scan time may vary depending on the program size, instructions used and program structure. If the set scan time expires with the CPU not yet completing a scan cycle, the processor goes to fault condition due to the activation of the Watchdog.

Fixed style controllers have typical installation with a modular style hardware. The chassis are installed to a mounting plate within an enclosure. The entire assembly must be properly grounded and grounding requirements of installed module must be followed to ensure proper operation of the system. Use NEMA rated enclosures and install fan to circulate air within the panel.
