The processor can support 8192 discrete digital I/O. Up to 3 chassis with a total of 30 slots for I/O can be used with the 1747-L542P processor. The on-board communication options include the RS-2343 and DH+ options. The memory backup option available for the processor is the flash EPROM. The status indicators provided on the processor for CPU fault, forced I/O, low-battery, RS-232, and DH+ status updates. The typical program scan time is 0.9 milliseconds.



The Allen-Bradley 1747-L542P processor requires 1 Amp of current at 5 Volts DC and 200 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. The accuracy of the on-board clock is ±54 seconds per month at 25 degrees Celsius which reduces to ±81 seconds per month at 60 degrees Celsius. The processor scan hold-up time after the power loss is 20 milliseconds to 3 seconds depending on the load of the power supply.
