The Allen-Bradley 1747-L553P is an SLC 5/05 processor that is a part of the SLC 500 system. It is a small simple processor with a wide range of applications such as small process control, material handling, and HVAC control etc. It contains a PLC-5 processor-based advanced instruction set. It can be a stand-alone device or distributed throughout the system for SCADA applications. The 1747-L553P processor has a total user memory of 64K words with 60K words for data/programming and 4K words for just data. It has up to 4096 inputs, 4096 outputs, and 480 local analog I/O. The 1747-L553P has a program scan time per keyword of 0.9 ms. It has a backplane current of 1A at 5V DC and 0A at 24V DC. It has a maximum of 2 local I/O chassis with a maximum of 30 module I/O slots in the local I/O chassis. For communication, it uses Ethernet and RS-232 ports that can be configured for connection to a 1761-NET-AIC converter. The 1747-L553P has a standard battery-backed RAM and a Flash backup memory. With this processor, a remote I/O scanner module and a DeviceNet scanner module can be installed to configure the I/O via the universal remote link or the DeviceNet network.
