The Allen-Bradley 1747-OCKTXD communication interface supports the Remote I/O, the DH+, and the DH-485 industrial communication protocols. The 1747-OCKTXD communication interface is compatible with the SLC 500 series programmable control systems from Allen-Bradley. The DH-485 network is designed for information exchange between devices on the factory plant floor. Up to 32 devices can be connected over a maximum network length of 4000 feet. Network nodes can be added or removed without causing network disruption. The DH+ (Data Highway Plus) network in the 1747-OCKTXD communication interface implements peer to peer communication with a token passing scheme to rotate the link mastership among a maximum number of 64 nodes. The DH+ network also supports communication at rates of 57.6 kbaud, 115.2 kbaud, and 230.4 kbaud and it allows for the remote programing of SLC 500, PLC-5, PLC-3, and PLC-2 processors. When used with a 150 Ohm termination resistor and 57.6 kbaud communication rate, the DH+ network can reach the maximum segment length of 10000 feet.

When the 1747-OCKTXD communication interface is used with the DH+ network with a 150 Ohm termination resistor and 115 kbaud communication rate, the DH+ network can reach the maximum segment length of 5000 feet. When it is used with a 82 Ohm termination resistor and 230.4 kbaud communication rate, the DH+ network can reach the maximum segment length of 2500 feet. The environmental specifications for the SLC 500 systems include 5 to 95% relative humidity, 0 to 60 degrees Celsius of operating temperature, and -40 to 85 degrees Celsius of storage temperature.
