The ProSoft MVI46-DNP DNP3 (Distributed Network Protocol 3.0) Master/Slave Communication Module is a DNP3 interface module, which provides DNP3 communication solution to for compatible Allen Bradley SLC automation platforms. It offers highly configurable DNP3 master and slave implementation, which allows SCADA and DNP3 field supporting devices to be easily integrated with the SLC platform, and it basically acts as an output/input point between SLC backplane and the DNP3 communication network. The MVI46-DNP DNP3 occupies a single 1746 chassis slot and draws 800 milliAmps backplane current at 5 Volt DC input. It supports both DNP level 2 and level 3 implementations, designed to accommodate more SCADA and DNP supported field devices, and it has a user-defined database stored in the module’s memory.
It is designed to access a processor memory for the transfer of data using M0/M1 files, and logic ladder programming is used to transfer these data. The MVI46-DNP can be configured for master/slave or slave/slave port configuration, and it can accept commands as well as monitor stored data in the slave configuration port. It master port can also be configured to actively send user-defined commands to network nodes, and it can support up to 40 slave devices with up to 300 user-defined commands. The MVI46-DNP has an RS-232 configuration port, with an RJ45 RS-232 only connector cable, and it has 2 DNP 3.0 application ports with 110 to 115 Kilo Bauds selectable transmission rates and with 0 to 65534 nodes addresses. Module, Backplane transfer, Application, and error LED statuses is displayed via an LED light indicator. The MVI46-DNP has a 0 to 60 degree Celsius operating ambiance range, within 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity range, and it is stored around -40 to 85 degree Celsius temperature range.
