SLC503

The SLC 5/03 is Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This controller range includes Three (3) controller products such as 1747-L531, 1747-L532 and 1747-L533. These controllers have the same form factor, having a single slot width that directly installed to any modular SLC 500 chassis.

The 1747-L531 features 8K memory, 16K memory for 1747-L532 and 32K memory for 1747-L533. These controllers has current draws of 500 mA at 5VDC and 175 mA at 24VDC. It can be installed with optional Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) with specific part number of 1747-M13 which has 64K available Flash memory.

The SL5/03 supports up to 8192 Discrete I/O and up to 3 Local chassis or 30 slots. Up to 107 programming instructions may be downloaded to each of the member controllers with typical scan time of 1 ms / K, Program scan hold-up time after loss of power of 20 ms…3 s (dependent on power supply loading), Bit execution of 0.44 μs and clock / calendar accuracy of ±54 seconds/month @ 25 °C (77 °F) or ±81 seconds/month @ 60 °C (140°F).

The SLC 5/03 supports Bit, Timer and Counter, Compare, Compute, Logical, Conversion, Move, File, Sequencer, Program Control, User Interrupt, Process Control, Communications, and ASCII instructions.

Communication to the controller may be established through the embedded DH485 and RS232 communication interfaces.

The SLC 5/03 has memory range of 8 K - 32 K memory and support optional Flash EEPROM. It has a backplane voltage rating of 175 MA at 24 Volts DC. The typical scan time and bit execution of the SLC 5/03 are 1 MS/Kword and 0.44 microseconds, respectively. The I/O scan time of the SLC 5/03 is 0.255 milliseconds. The SLC 5/03 has a chassis type mounting feature. The chassis and slot size are 3 and 30, respectively. The interface of the SLC 5/03 processor comes with LED lights to display processor status at any given time. The SLC 5/03 needs an optimal operating temperature of 0.60 degrees Celsius to operate properly.
