About Dataliner
The Dataliner series is a series of message display units manufactured by Allen-Bradley. They are next-generation message displays from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation that are widely used to deliver messages across the factory. The displays can be viewed from up to 240 feet away. The DL 40 series offers a wide variety of display units in product lines including the DL5, DL10, DL20, DL30, DL40, and DL50 product lines. This series offers display units with a wide variety of functions. The input voltage range of the devices in this series ranges from 12 to 24 Volts DC. They come with increased user application memory of 128 K in all the units. A real-time clock with full year-2000 compliance is also offered with these display units. The Dataliner displays are equipped with RS-232 message-triggering features which make use of the serial ASCII protocol and with the RS-232 point-to-point slave display communication features. The RS-232 is also used for auto wake up and it can help in offline programming. The display units have few electronic components, which increases the reliability of the unit. The power supplies used in the Dataliner series are certified to have IEC 1131-2 compliant designs.
The Allen-Bradley Dataliner series meets different environmental, safety, and European Union regulatory requirements including the CE, EMC, UL, and cUL standards. The Dataliner series message displays use VFDs or Vacuum Fluorescent Display screens which are available in different variants that can display anything from 1 to 5 lines of text. The display brightness of these VFDs can be adjusted from 0 to 100%. The display panels provide EEPROM module backup support and they include SB tapes as a recorded backup tape. The Dataliner message displays have remote reset connections and they support power and reset connections. The display panels can be used for indoor applications only and they are available with NEMA Type 4, 12, and 13 enclosures only.
