The 2706-P42C InView message display terminal by Allen-Bradley is an electronic display terminal which has a red LCD matrix display screen with display dimensions of 36 x 4.8 inches and a resolution of 120 x 16 pixels with a pixel spacing of 0.3 inches. The 2706-P42C terminal has a maximum viewing distance of 200 feet and 2 lines of text on which messages are displayed. Each line has a maximum number of characters that it can display, with the first line having space for up to 12 characters and the 2nd line having space for up to 20 characters. The messages are displayed in the standard and extended ASCII character sets, and the character length differs on each line. The characters on the 1st display line have a size of 4.8 inches, while the size of the characters on the 2nd line is 2.1 inches.
The 2706-P42C InView message display terminal uses a back-mounted AC power supply module with an input voltage range of 100 to 240 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz. Programming the 2706-P42C terminal is made easy by using the Allen-Bradley 2706-PSW1 computer-based InView messaging software through a computer connected to the display via the RS-232 and RS-485 serial communication ports, which also allow for connection to external devices.
